Unrest in Paris intensifies
Paris, France, 10 Dec. - The anti-government demonstration called "Yellow Vest" in Paris erupted three weeks ago has shown no signs of abating.
Finance Minister says that the chaos is the main factor to blow the country's economy away. Police trucks lined up on the street could only be seen at the moment as numerous shops particularly jewelry shops being boarded up in the city were shuttered so that they may protect their precious goods from looters camouflaging among demonstrators on the streets.
The trip has ended up with memorable one instead of a romantic surprise, said a touristy couple.
Two days ago, armored vehicles were deployed on the streets to handle the chaotic situation in the capital after the announcement of French Prime Minister , Edouard Philipe, had been made. Using such vehicles is considered to be the first in 50 years. 8,000 police were also deployed. Authorities have detained around 500 demonstrators. 30 people have been injured. Three of the wounded are police officers.
French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to address to the nation at 18.00 GMT on Monday. Academics said that if the President cannot please the angry protesters, the country will definitely face the great instability of politics.
The anti-government rally joined by some 10,000 protesters erupted three weeks ago as its demand was stopping oil tax hike, however the demand is veered away and covering other issues. Some information was applied from AFP, Al-Jazeera, and BBC.
