Sanctions against Russia Begin

Mar, 7, 14 - The United States and the European Union have initiated their sanctions against the Russian Federation for its military action in Crimea. On the other hand, the US has been trying to diplomatically negotiate to end the crisis in Ukraine.

US President Barack Obama endorsed  the statement to allow the country to proceed the sanction measure against Russians and Ukrainians related to the event in the Ukraine's autonomous region of Crimea by seizing their assets and giving no permission to those to enter the country, yet officials said that Putin is not on the list.

Moreover, The President talked to Putin on the phone and called the Federation's President for using the diplomatic method with Ukraine to solve the conflict, insisting that the relations between two countries has not been effected by the crisis.

In the mean time, the EU concluded to utilize lighter sanction and agreed to attach property of Ukrainian impeached Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych for the violent crackdown last month.

Meanwhile, Russia's parliament issued some measures for retaliating the western countries by attaching businessmen' assets but the analysts said this retaliation is lust a threat.
