Ukraine Foreign Minister: Peaceful Process is Priority

Mar, 8, 14 - Ukraine's acting foreign minister has called for a diplomatic resolution and a peaceful process to
end the crisis in Ukraine.

VOA news reported that Andrii Deshchytsia, the acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine Saturday said in Kyiv, the capital of the country, a diplomatic resolution is our priority.

He added that Ukraine was open to any possibility led to concrete results, yet he insisted that Crimea, the autonomous region of Ukraine, is and will be Ukrainian territory.

Deshchytsia called Russia for refraining from blocking international observers trying to enter Crimea.

Meanwhile, the pro-Russia prime minister of Ukraine's Crimea peninsula has defended a decision to hold a referendum on whether the region should join Russia, saying on Saturday that no one could cancel the voting.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski  Saturday said that his country has recall its consulate in Ukraine's Crimea for safety reasons due to disturbances by Russian troops.
