At Least 20 Officers Wounded at Supreme Court

Bangkok, Thailand (Feb. 14) - There have been small skirmishes between Ratsadorn Group's demonstrators and police officers in front of the Supreme Court Saturday leaving at least 20 police personnel suffered from minor injuries.

The injured was mostly caused by homemade devices called Ping-Pong bombs, glass bottles and iron balls from catapults thrown into the police line deploying in front of the court shortly after the leaders of the group had announced to dissolve the rally at 10 pm local time.

Over 10 people have been detained and taken to Region 1 Border Police Bureau in Pathumtani province and a few number of  protesters have been slightly injured from tear gas.

Officers from Explosive Ordnance Disposal rushed to the scene and found explosive-like materials after the police had been able to cope the situation. From the preliminary inspection, those materials are expected to be homemade devices called Ping-Pong bombs.

In addition to this, a ThaiVoice correspondent reporting from the scene was hit at his head with stuff thrown from the protesters and the group's security guards encouraging the rally participants to attack police. He defamed the rally, causing innocent people with widespread difficulties, on his Facebook page.
