Martial Law Declared in 7 Townships in Mandalay

Mandalay, Myanmar (Feb. 8) - The junta government has implemented martial law in 7 townships in Mandalay, threatening to use live ammunition.
Gathering over 5 people and demonstration have been prohibited. The curfew has also been in place.
According to the address made by the Ministry of General Administration, "There have been some clans hampering law enforcement and deteriorating public security".
The address came after tens of thousands of anti-coup demonstrators had been gathering so as to condemn the junta government and call for the release of democratic icon Aung San Su Kyi.
The junta government hasn't shown any actions to use force against the protesters. However, water cannons were utilized to disperse the demonstrators in the nation's capital on Monday after the state-run TV had aired the warning.
State-run MRTV warned people who are behaving against law would be prosecuted.
On the other hand, pro-military government supporters bearing military flag and singing military songs from trucks headed towards downtown of former capital of Yangon where many anti-coup protesters were rallying. Some information is applied from Isara and The Straits Times.
