Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn Utilizes Misleading News to Attack Govt. during Censure Debate
He accused the government has a late vaccine procurement alluding the highest institution, speaking the similar content to Thanathorn's Facebook Live. He apocryphally said that the government has taken Thai people hostage with the monopoly vaccine, claiming Siam Bioscience Co obtained a green light from the govt. to produce the vaccine.
He also pointed out that the government firstly claimed the capacity of inoculation at 5 million people each month and later changed to a higher capacity at 10 million monthly.
Mr. Lakkhanaadisorn continued to exploit a news article from ThaiEnquirer, citing India proposed free Covishield doses, citing that the government rejected the offer. The piece of news was considered to be fake as the spokesperson to the government has already clarified that India offered regular vaccine procurement. The vaccine doses were Covaxin, according to the clarification of the spokesperson.
Thai PM General Prayuth Chan-o-cha refuted Mr. Lakkhanaadisorn's conjecture, adding that his administration issued Covid-19 protocols through the suggestion of health experts and doctors. "Unlike cold vaccination, Covid-19 inoculation is the emergency one.", he added.
Anutin Chanvirakul, who is at the helm of Covid-19 containment, said the first lot of 2 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses would reach Thailand within this month, the second with 8 lakh doses would be in March and the third would be in May. Furthermore, he emphasized that AstraZeneca itself selected Siam Bioscience Co. as the Asean manufacturer of Covishield, rejecting any involvement of the government on the matter.
The conjecture of Mr. Lakkhanaadisorn regarding to the inoculation plan has prompted a very detailed elaboration from Public Health Ministry's medical team, having a conference at the parliament.
