The request to release the defendants on bail had been proposed at the Appeal Court. The court ruled that the defendants deserve to free on bail as they have been showing no signs of escape and avoidance the court’s summon, had permanent habitats as well as the penalties aren’t misdemeanors. Travelling overseas is prohibited except getting the green light from the criminal court.
The Criminal Court Wednesday ruled that the defendants were found guilty on occupying government buildings and hampering 2014 election process they made during the demonstration in 2013-2014. The leaders detained at the Bangkok Remand Prison are Suthep Tuagsubun, Chumpon Chunlasai, Puttipong Punnakan, Issara Somchai, Thaworn Senniem, Nattapon Teepsuwan, Suwit Thongprasert, Sub Lieutenant Samdin Loetbu.
The blanket amnesty act for ex-premiere, Taksin Shinnawattra, and corruption in the Rice Pledging Scheme practiced by Yingluck’s administration which left 600 billion baht damage drew the outpouring of demonstrators to protest against the corrupt and tyrannous government.
