Police also asked the claimed villagers to move out.

Police found cannabis bars and weapons after they had managed to control the area.

Pol Maj Gen Piya Tawichai, a deputy police commander of Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau, said at a news conference that the group had conducted a number of offences e.g. encroaching some parts of the government compound, illegally connecting to state's running water and electric services, directly dumping savage into Padung Krungkasem Canal and etc.

He added that the police had periodically warned the campers before 70 people were detained during the clear out process.

The encampment had been located across from the Government House beside Padung Krungkasem Canal since Mar. 13.
