Smoke Grenades Thrown into Police by REDEM

Bangkok, Thailand (Mar. 1) – The anti-monarchy protests called REDEM (previously named Ratsadorn) have gathered at the Victory Monument Sunday and marched to PM’s official accommodation at 1st Infantry Regiment.

The protesters started heading to 1st Infantry Regiment, protected with containers and razor barbed tape wire, at 5.00 pm local time.

Half an hour later as the demonstrators reached the regiment, guards of the protest began to demolish the barricades and record videos of correspondents while they were reporting.

The riot police, announcing the rally regulations and Covid-19 protocols, installed iron railings to prevent them from entering the area.

Clashes between protesters and riot police took place at 6.45 pm. The protesters were throwing bottle, and smoke grenades into the police.

The incident resulted in 33 people injured (23 were police and 10 were civilians) and 1 police officer dead. Some information is applied from MGR online.
