4 Dead & Dozen Injured in Suicide Bombing in Pakistan

        Quetta, Pakistan (Apr. 22) – At least 4 people have been killed and nearly a dozen injured in a suicide bombing at Serena Hotel in Quetta, Pakistan Wednesday.



        The bomb was ignited at a parking lot in front of the hotel. Security forces rushed to the scene, prohibiting ordinary people to go inside.

        The Pakistani Taliban, or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – a separate insurgent group from the Afghan Taliban – claimed responsibility for the attack, confirming the suicide attack.

        Senior police official Azhar Akram said officers were trying to determine whether the bomb was planted in a vehicle that was parked in the hotel’s parking lot. He refused to provided further details as he said that the police were still scoring for the evidences. Other security officials said the bomb exploded minutes after a car had entered the parking lot.

        The Chinese ambassador were residing at the hotel when the bomb was ignited, said Pakistan’s interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.

        Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong had earlier in the day met provincial Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the city, according to a tweet from the provincial government spokesman, Liaquat Shahwani.
