22 Patients Killed after Oxygen Leak in India
Maharashtra, India (Apr. 21) – At least 22 patients on ventilators have been killed from oxygen leak, hampering life support supply.
An oxygen tank leaked at Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik on Wednesday. As many as 171 patients were having treatment in the hospital at the time of the incident.
Commissioner, Nasik Municipal Corporation – Kailash Jadhav – said that the infirmary was lake of the oxygen tank for half an hour, claiming lives of those on life support.
“People died because of pressure reduction as the leak in the gas tank which is provided by a private company.” he added.
Meanwhile, Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis demanded a detailed inquiry into the incident.
