India Crosses 2 Lakh Covid-19 Cases in 24 Hours

India (Apr. 15) - India has passed 2 lakh milestone of cases in the country Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, 1,038 people have died from the disease. Conversely, 93,528 people have been discharged from hospitals. 200,739 were recognized to be the highest confirmed cases in just a day for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The proliferating number of confirmed cases in India resulted in the importation of Pfizer and Moderna shots.

The rising cases of the pathogen was expected to be the result of political canvasses, Holy Dip festival, and breaking curfew.

Maharashtra residents experienced 15 days of lockdown. Unnecessary services including advertisement, TV and movie productions were forced closed.

The random sampling of people participating Holy Dip shows 1.5% of 20,000 samples stricken with the pathogen. Nine of them were Hindu supreme leaders.

India is now the second hard-hit country by the pandemic as over 14 million people have been infected with the virus.
