Covid-19 Surge Results in Blood Shortages
Trang, Thailand (Apr. 21) - Blood shortages at Trang Hospital has been looming, asking people to donate blood as the blood bank was affected by the Covid surge.

Mrs. Areerat Kanrat, the head of the blood bank at Trang Hospital, said that the latest wave of the pathogen and intensive Covid-19 screening among medical clients caused the less number of blood donators because the high risk of Covid exposure, directly causing the lack of blood reservation at the infirmary. Currently, There is a high demand of blood consumption for emergency cases e.g. accidents and surgical treatments.
People who have intended to donate blood can contract at Blood Bank of the hospital from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm on working days. For the Covid precautionary measuer, the donators have to provide clear travelling timelines as there haven't been Covid examination in blood donated.
