Army Helps Flood Victims


          Bangkok, Thailand (Oct. 11) - The spokesperson to the Thai Army has made a news conference Sunday that the premier and defence minister, Prayuth Chan-o-cha, ordered infantry regiments to continuously mobilize personnel so as to help and relief the difficulties of people, living in the areas affected by the deluge. 

          Particularly in Korat, the rain has been constantly pounding the province resulted in rising water, and impassible roads.

          General Narongpan Chitkaewtae, Thai army commander, said that personnel and relief equipments were sent into the hard-hit area. 

          The soldiers have been partitioned to serve  differently urgent duties e.g. filling sand bags, evacuating people, facilitating drivers and pedestrians, and cleaning waste pipes, delivering relief packages.

           Thai army has arranged a special force to monitor the situation closely, covering Korat's Pimai, Pakchong, Pakthongchai 24 hours. Some information is applied from Thairath.
