Wild Life Trading in Zoos to be Investigated

Bangkok, Thailand (Oct 9) - Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Warawuth Sillapa-a-cha has called for a meetting with a committee, established for inspection on wild life trading in zoos, dated for Oct. 12, to scrrutinize the frame work on that.

"There will not be a rigged process on the investigation", he gave his words during his interview with media. He added that the procedure to unearth the truth will have been conducted in Sonkhla in the first place and the culprit must be captured to make it clear before heading to other zoos.

Mr. Sillapa-a-cha pointed out that the brand new committee was established to uncover the truth on the illegal wild life trading and push the organizations into completely tangible reform. He also said that additional skeptical points would, too, be investigated. Related sectors might be brought together in the fact finding process.

The ministry established the committee after Zoological Park Organization of Thailand's Director Suriya Saengpong had been shot dead last week while he was having an investigation upon the disappearence of an albinistic muntjac in Feb. Some information is applied from ThaiPBS.
