Turkish Arms Sales to Azerbaijan Hiked before Nagorno-Karabakh Fighting


          Ankara, Turkey (Oct. 14) - Turkish armory exports to it's ally - Azerbaijan - reported by Reuters and Aljazeera Wednesday, have increased six-fold this year, sending drones, and other military equipments, rising to $77m last month.

          The data showed that the Turkish arms sales had risen to $77m last month alone before the fighting with Armenia broke out over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

          Most of the purchases of drones, rocket launchers, ammomition and other weapons reached after Jul.

          Trades increased from $278,880 in Jul. to $36m in August, and $77.1 million in September.

          The figures compiled by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly, show Azerbaijan has bought $123m in defence and aviation equipments from Turkey beteem Jan. and Jul.

           Fighting between Azeri and ethnic Armenian forces broke out on Sept. 27 over Nagorno-Karabakh region, killing at least 540 military personnel. Some information is applied from Reuters, Aljazeera, and VOA.
