Rights and Liberties Protection Department Helps 17-Year-Old Sexual Victim
Bangkok, Thailand (Oct. 7) - Justice minister has ordered Rights and Liberties Protection Department (RLPD) to help and soothe a 17-year-old female sexual victim abused by her partner, and insisted that over two thousand sexual victims have been reached by the ministry in 2020 spending around ฿74 million of the endowment.
Mr. Somsak Thepsutin, justice minister, revealed that he orderd RLPD to soothe the victim, raped and recorded a video clip by her partner in the province of Samut Sakhon. He elabrated that personnel from the department brought inquiry officials of Kokkham Police Station together to get engaged in the case. The personnel informed him that the victim and her mother flied a lawsuit aganist her partner and met the officials in order to acquire further information related to the case and told the victim regarding the right according to Damages for the Injured Person and Compensation and Expense for the Accused in Criminal Case Act.
The victim could get ฿40,000 for medial treatment, ฿20,000 for physical and mental rehabilitation and around ฿50,000 for other damages. The commpensation, however, to be complied with the consederation of the RLPD's sub-committee. Some information is applied from Thairath.
