Typhoon Chan-hom to Batter Japan
Japan (Oct. 8) - Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued weather alert as typhoon Chan-hom is largo moving westward and is expected to batter the eastern and the western parts of the country within days.
JMA elaborated that, as of 6 p.m. local time Thursday, the storm is swirling 270 kilometers from the coast of Tanegashima Ispand in southwestern Japan.
Officials said the typhoon, pounding heavy rain and carring gusty wind, could make land fall in Japan's western part on Friday, and the eastern part of the country on Saturday or later.
The officials warned people in the area to get percautious for severe thunder shower, gusty winds, landslide, and high waves. Some information is applied from NHK world.
